Sauna Is Great For Relieving Stress

Our body's nervous system is put under constant strain by high daily stress levels. There have been many studies done which have documented the negative effect prolonged stress can have on our overall health and wellness.

The university hospital Charite in Berlin have done scientific studies that clearly prove having a Sauna can strengthen the immune system and enhance and stabilize the blood circulation. Studies done in the US have shown that the people who have a 10-30 minute Sauna at least twice a week are less stressed after a days work than others in similar jobs who don't go to saunas.

How Do Saunas Reduce Stress?

A comfortable, relaxing and safe atmosphere for the relief of stress is provided by Sauna therapy. There are two ways it can release stress.

  • The first way is the natural relaxed feeling you often get by just being in a Sauna. You will get this feeling in both wet and dry Saunas. Your heart starts to beat a little harder and an increase of blood circulation to your skin and around your body will be noticed.
  • The second way is due to the increased circulation and heat to our skin. It causes more built up chemicals and toxins to be released when we start to sweat. These chemicals and toxins have been slowly building up over days, weeks, months and years of stress and they are released in the Sauna and their production is then slowed.

By just spending a few minutes in the gentle warmth of a Sauna, fatigue and stress can be reduced. It can provide an overall massaging effect, which soothes jangled nerves and knotted muscles. Saunas trigger the production of endorphins, the "feel good" hormones, and these help to reduce physical stress. This stress relief technique will leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated. It has a warm soothing effect which provides an immediate benefit to those knotted and tightened muscles.

Heat treatments are often used by massage therapists before a massage for natural stress relief as it has an overall relaxing effect on their clients. The muscle tissue is relaxed and the therapist can then do a more thorough and effective massage.

Sauna therapy is great for natural stress relief as it reduces physiological and mental/emotional stress. The feeling of tremendous relaxation is the most immediate and noticeable effect, and this alone can have a profound impact on your health.

Unfortunately we live in a stress filled world, we have stress in work situations, relationships, internal stress, financial stress, the list is endless and to anyone who lives in the 21st century it is not news.

Two ways of handling stress are:

1.      Detox your mind, eliminate fears, insecurities and negativity.

2.      Detox your body, get rid of the cellular debris.

An infrared Sauna (FIR) is ideal for detoxing of the body because of the sweat factor. Your body stores toxins in the fat cells and when you deeply sweat you release those stored toxins. Twenty minutes in an infrared Sauna (FIR) and you will feel completely renewed and relaxed.

Escape into this world of relaxation three or four times a week and in effect recharge your emotional battery. Your body will soak in this radiant energy and you can feel charged enough to take on the world. People who use their infrared saunas (FIR) frequently will say this is not an uncommon feeling. Stress drains the body of its vital energy and even if you are one of the most health conscious people, your stress levels still need to be kept to a minimum. Stress often goes unnoticed and even though you may appear to be relaxed you may be unconsciously in a stress mode and low grade stress takes its toll over a period of years.

Remember, stress can be handled by stepping into the world of calmness and relaxation with infrared saunas.

Sauna and stress don't go together!
